Supreme Court to hear case on police duty of care

The Home Office will argue this week in a landmark Supreme Court appeal that victims of serious crime should not be allowed to use the Human Rights Act to sue the police, stating that it could "damage operational effectiveness" by distracting officers from their cases and forcing them into "defensive policing".

Revised PACE Codes of Practice C, D and H

The Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (Codes of Practice) (Revision of Codes C, D and H) Order 2016 (SI 2017/103) has amended PACE Codes of Practice C, D and H. The revised Codes came into force on 23 February 2017.
