16 August 2021
Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (Self-Isolation) (England) Regulations 2020 are amended from the 16th August 2021, so that:
a person can now leave self-isolation to post an antibody test;
there is no longer a duty for a child under the age of 18 to self-isolate where they have had close contact with a person who has tested positive;
there are further exceptions to the requirement for an adult to self-isolate following close contact, namely:
where the person has completed the course of vaccine and the notification was received more than 14 days after that course of vaccine;
where the person has participated, or is participating, in a clinical trial of a vaccine against coronavirus carried out in the UK;
where the person is able to provide evidence that, for clinical reasons, they should not be vaccinated with any authorised vaccine;
there are transitional provisions outlining that that where a child or a person who falls within the above exemptions, any self-isolation at the time the amendments come into force will cease.
