Amendment: Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020 are amended from 4am on the 23 April 2021. Provision is made to allow an immigration officer to require a person to undertake a test in certain circumstances. The prohibition of certain aircraft landing in England in respect of aircraft connected to the UK’s 2021 presidency of the G7 (“a G7 event”) is disapplied.

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Public Health Information for Persons Travelling to Wales etc.) Regulations 2020 are amended from 12 April 2021. In consequence of the amendments made to the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (No. 5) (Wales) Regulations 2020 and international travel, these Regulations are amended to impose a requirement on the operators of commercial transport services departing from Wales to a destination outside the common travel area.

The amendments to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020 come into force at 4am, on Saturday 10 April 2021. The instrument amends Schedule 3 in the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020 to remove sporting events which have already taken place and to add sporting events which will take place before the International Travel Regulations expire in June 2021.
